I've got it baaaaad for blue lately. Cobalt specifically. Love affairs with color are nothing new to me (I'm looking at you, mint green) but I just can't quit this one. It's been a year strong so far with NO signs of cooling off. I just bought a pair of cobalt wedge heels (see below!) and I could already go for another hit. Luckily, it seems this season there is plenty of cobalt to go around so my options are varied and plentiful. Cobalt is great for any season, but blends particularly well with autumn to add a vibrant pop of color. Simultaneously bold and traditional, cobalt is the color that works for everything - and everyone. Join in my cobalt craziness!
I have SEVERAL pieces listed above already (open front cardigan, studded purse, wedge heels, wrap dress, nail polish...) and I'm eyeing a few more. Can we just talk about that coat with the huge amazing collar? I probably shouldn't have discovered that. I kind of can't even talk about that glitzy fish scale pattern skirt. Cobalt is just SO GOOD.
What color can you not live without this fall?

DIY: Painted Wood Bead Necklace
Sometimes I can't decide between my love for bright unnatural colors and my love for natural shades of wood, so I decided to make a necklace that appeals to both my artificial and natural sensibilities. Bonus points because it was super simple! See for yourself:
> Acrylic paints in various colors
> Paintbrush
> Painter's Tape
> Metal chain (about 18")
> Jump rings (2)
> Clasp
> Jewelry tools
The beads will shift around when you wear the necklace, but the random design and pops of color on traditional wood shades makes for such a fun surprise.
This necklace can pretty much be worn with ANYTHING! How would you style it?

What You Need
> Wood beads in various sizes> Acrylic paints in various colors
> Paintbrush
> Painter's Tape
> Metal chain (about 18")
> Jump rings (2)
> Clasp
> Jewelry tools
How To Make It
1. Tape off half of each wood bead with the painter's tape.
2. Paint the untaped half of each bead in whatever colors you choose. Mine took 2-3 coats.
3. Peel the tape off when the beads are dry.
4. String the beads on the metal chain.
5. Attach jump rings and clasp to finish the necklace.
This necklace can pretty much be worn with ANYTHING! How would you style it?

STYLE: OOTD (With Curls!)
Okay, so this is technically an outfit of the day post, but more than that it's an excuse to RAVE about the best hair tool EVER! Like, for real.
A friend of mine had told me about it and then finally demonstrated it on my hair, at which point I became a devotee and immediately counted the minutes until I could run to Target and buy one for myself.
The Goody Wave Creator curled my hair so well I was able to rock this hair for literally 3 days. Don't judge - I used dry shampoo! It's super easy to use, but I honestly don't get how it actually works or how it is so different from regular curling irons. What I do get is that my hair was lookin' GOOD. I even had someone who has known me for years ask if my hair was naturally curly. I'm fooling 'em, guys! I'm debating if I ever need to have straight hair again.
