DIY French Manicure with Post-Its

I've been looking for a nice, simple way to do an at-home French manicure that would look great and prevent me from having to buy anything. I never find success with those little white stickers they sell with the manicure supplies to keep your edges clean; they're always too sticky and, ahem, not free. What was free to me was a pile of Post-Its that I've had lying around. Hey - they're also sticky, but not too sticky and they're easy to work with! This might be the start of a beautiful friendship...

First, I started with Post-Its, scissors, NYC polish in Love Letters, Ultra Pro polish in Fuchsia Rage and Wet n' Wild clear top coat. I then creased about 5 Post-Its just under their sticky strip. This makes it easier to cut off the sticky portion, as it can be hard to see it since it's the same color as the rest of the sheet.

Next, I cut strips from the sticky section (about 4 per Post-It) until I had 10 total, or one for each nail.

Then I applied one strip to each nail, making sure to stick it securely and crease it around the edges of my nail to help it stay longer. I made them long enough to wrap around my fingertip, but making them just the width of the nail would work too. Paint each nail tip in the color of your choice (I chose pink over the traditional white) and allow to dry. Apply a second coat if needed.

Next, carefully peel each Post-It off when polish is dry. Coat each nail in the Love Letters polish. Apply top coat when dry.

Enjoy your at-home DIY Post-It manicure!
